John Hartsons Brave \'HART\' Challenge

John Hartsons Brave \'HART\' Challenge - Click for larger version Please let me introduce myself, my name is Jason Cunliffe and I am the Office Administrator for the John Hartson Foundation.

The foundation has been established through the determination of John himself following his long battle with testicular cancer. Initially forming in late January 2010 the foundations charitable status was received on the 15th April 2010.

As you may be aware John spent several years and enjoyed his greatest success at Celtic Park. John’s adoration of Scotland and the Scottish people has always been evident to all.

On the 14th of July John is climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles, standing at 1344 metres high (or 4408 feet). This will be exactly 1 year after John\'s 1st life saving emergency brain operation.

We are looking for 200 people to climb with him and help in raising testicular cancer awareness as well as funds for the foundation, which will be used for cancer research and support.

We would like to invite you and/or your employees to join John and the other participants on this magnificent trek.

For more information about testicular cancer or the Brave ’HART’ Challenge please go to www.johnhartsonfoundation.co.uk

To register your interest please E-Mail events@johnhartsonfoundation.co.uk

We are looking for each participant to submit a completed registration form and signed declaration of health. Please note we will require 1 registration form and declaration of health for each person applying. Due to the obvious dangers and insurance policies all participants must be over the age of 18.

Once we receive the required forms you will be booked on to the event and receive a confirmation E-Mail. As soon as you are a confirmed participant you will receive a full fundraising pack, including sponsorship forms. You will also receive additional information relating to accommodation; travel; clothing and footwear; and all other relevant information.

Should we reach our target before we receive your forms your name (s) will added to a stand by list in case anyone should withdraw?

Places are limited to participate in this event so please return your registration form as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

If you cannot participate please show your support by making a donation securely via Charity Giving.

“If you know my story you will be aware that despite knowing that I had a lump in my groin for four years, I didn’t get it checked out. I now realise that was a huge error of judgement on my part - which could have cost me my life. The experiences of the last few months have made me passionate about getting the message across to other men to check themselves regularly and act immediately if they discover a lump – regardless of whether it’s painful or not. My ignorance so nearly cost me my life and I don’t want anyone else to do what I did! If caught early enough then Testicular Cancer can be beaten, and I hope to become a living example of that.” John Hartson - 16th April 2010

Many thanks for taking the time to read this E-Mail and I hope this has at least raised your awareness of the importance of checking regularly.

Kind Regards,

Jason Cunliffe LLB (Hons)
