Working for Families and Childcare Extra is a service funded by the Scottish Government to support and assist parents/carers towards training, education and employment.

How can we help?

  • Information on training/learning and employment opportunities
  • Information on a range of support services such as childcare
  • Money advice, benefits, housing, job related issues
  • Practical help as you move towards your goals
  • Your Guidance Advisor will work with YOU every step of the way.

Are you having difficulty accessing childcare?

Working for Families and Childcare Extra can help parents who are either in or about to start:

  • Employment
  • Training
  • Education

If you live in the East End of Glasgow and have children under 16 years we can:

  • Help find affordable, flexible childcare to help you progress
  • Provide support and advice to meet your needs
  • Provide short term financial assistance to help with childcare costs
  • Provide assistance and support in route planning your career path

Working for Families and Childcare Extra cover the whole of Glasgow. There are ten teams of childcare mentors and guidance workers across the city - every household which meets the eligibility criteria can benefit from the service.
